Ty Wernet has been volunteering at the MCFB since December 2016 and has been a board member since October 2018. He drives an MCFB truck for grocery rescue at local stores, supports the staff in data analysis and projections, as well as reviewing and suggesting options for efficiency opportunities.
Ty has a BS in Computer Science and Business Administration. He retired after 31 years as a Chief Information Officer and Information Technology Director of a US Navy Research, Development, Test and Evaluation Laboratory in San Diego. After retiring, he began working for a woman owned small business growing the business from a dozen or so employees to 120+ employees. After 11 years, Ty retired as a Senior Executive Vice President and started volunteering at the Marysville Food Bank.
In addition to volunteering at the Food Bank, Ty and his wife Patty (also a MCFB volunteer) are finally taking time to do some traveling by enjoying the wonderful areas of the Northwest and taking cruises to different areas of interest. He enjoys racquetball, is an active member of the United States Racquetball Association, holds an Amateur Radio license, and is an amateur photographer.
